Kaspersky partners with UTHM to strengthen Malaysia’s cybersecurity talent pipeline

Kaspersky has signed an MoU with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia to enhance its Information Security Programme with global expertise, hands-on training, and real-world threat intelligence. The partnership supports Malaysia’s goal of building a sustainable cybersecurity workforce, addressing an urgent talent gap as ransomware detections surged 153% in 2024 and demand for 27,000 professionals looms by 2025.

With Malaysia’s cybersecurity market projected to reach US$2.17bn by 2030, the collaboration aims to equip graduates with in-demand skills, boost faculty capabilities, and improve employability while strengthening national digital resilience.
