ASG has completed a four-day SAR refresher training programme for nine Irish Coast Guard Watch Officers in Galway from 19 to 22 May 2026, covering operational risk management, emergency response planning, meteorology, navigation, air law, SAR procedures, human factors and fatigue risk management.

ASG is a Dublin Airport-based EASA-approved aviation training organisation providing ATPL theory, pilot training and bespoke SAR and operational aviation training to airlines, government agencies and emergency services across Ireland and internationally. ASG employs more than 30 instructors and operates more than 20,000 sq ft of aviation training facilities adjacent to Dublin Airport. Revenue and EBITDA are not publicly disclosed. 

The Irish Coast Guard (IRCG) is the state agency responsible for coordinating all Search and Rescue services around Ireland's coastline, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. ASG has now delivered 12 initial SATAC courses and multiple recurrent refresher programmes, training over 100 Watch Officers since the partnership began approximately five years ago.

The structural driver is the IRCG's regulatory obligation to maintain competency standards across its Watch Officer cadre. Watch Officers coordinate air, marine and ground assets during SAR incidents, a role requiring continuous currency in meteorology, flight planning, air law, human factors and multi-agency communications that cannot be maintained through operational experience alone. 

EASA and IRCG internal competency frameworks mandate recurrent training at defined intervals, creating a recurring training mandate that requires a provider with both the SATAC course intellectual property and the operational credibility to update content based on real-world SAR experience.

The Galway off-site delivery model is operationally significant. Bringing training to the western operational base rather than requiring Watch Officers to travel to Dublin reduces operational disruption and travel cost, reflecting ASG's positioning as a bespoke, operationally located training provider for government and emergency services clients.

For the sector, ASG's sustained IRCG partnership demonstrates that specialist aviation training organisations with bespoke public sector mandates are building durable recurring government contract relationships that provide revenue visibility and reputational credentials transferable to international emergency services markets.
