Enterprise Ireland has invested €500,000 in MESO, an education technology spin-out from Trinity College Dublin’s ADAPT Centre, to accelerate the rollout of its AI-driven curriculum planning platform across schools in Ireland and abroad.

Founded by teacher and CEO Dr Chris Byrne, MESO uses artificial intelligence to automate lesson planning, generate aligned assessments, and create curriculum-specific guides. The platform is designed to reduce teacher workload while supporting more personalised learning for students.

“Teachers are being asked to do more than ever, but the infrastructure to support that work simply hasn’t kept pace," said Dr Byrne.

"By combining educational research with advanced AI, our goal is to give teachers time back to focus on students rather than paperwork. This spin-out is a timely intervention for the sector, and the support from Enterprise Ireland allows us to move from pilot phase to wider deployment.”

MESO is currently piloting its system in multiple Irish schools and plans to scale nationally and internationally over the next year. The platform aims to provide an integrated ecosystem linking teacher planning, student learning pathways, and school-level oversight, helping schools meet increasing expectations around planning, assessment, and differentiated learning.

The company has also launched the MESO Fellows Programme, inviting schools and education authorities to co-design future platform features and ensure the technology aligns closely with classroom needs.

Interested schools and educators can explore demonstrations and learn more through the MESO website.
