Young Enterprise NI, the Northern Ireland-based enterprise education charity supporting over 90,000 students annually, has partnered with Lancia Consult to evaluate and enhance its technology and data systems.

The collaboration aimed to ensure the charity’s digital infrastructure aligns with its mission to prepare students for life and work.

Oliver Brunton, financial controller at Young Enterprise NI, said: “We engaged Lancia Consult to undertake a technology and data assessment across Young Enterprise NI, helping us better understand the effectiveness and relevance of our current systems and data, and ultimately to chart a path for future development.”

The consultancy project began with a series of structured discovery sessions, both in-person and online, allowing Young Enterprise NI staff to provide insights that shaped the assessment. Brunton described the experience as “a genuinely positive experience from the outset” and praised the Lancia Consult team for being “highly engaging, professional, and personable throughout.”

Within eight weeks, Young Enterprise NI received a comprehensive report detailing the organisation’s current state architecture, data, and processes, alongside evidence-based recommendations. While some suggestions could not be implemented immediately due to resource and financial constraints, Brunton noted that the report establishes “a strong foundation for building a future business case with developers.”

Brunton highlighted the value of consistent communication during the engagement: “Regular contact was promised by the project coordinator, and they absolutely delivered, both with the project team and the coordinator keeping key staff informed throughout.”
