King's Business School has introduced a new Research and Consultancy Project module for students on its online MSc Global Human Resource Management programme, developed in partnership with global employee benefits and reward platform Benifex.

As reported by King's College London, the module places students in the role of HR consultants, tasking them with developing evidence-based recommendations in response to a live organisational challenge drawn from Benifex's operations.

The collaboration is led by Gethin Nadin, Chief Innovation Officer at Benifex and Executive Fellow at King's Business School, alongside academic leads Dr Penelope Simpson, Programme Director for the online MSc, and co-tutor Vicky Richards-Hobman.

Dr Simpson said the module was designed to reflect the realities of professional HR practice. "It has been designed to be authentic to the role of global HR professionals with the application of research techniques, a consulting approach, and evidence of problem-solving skills to address the business issue with actionable recommendations," she said.

Nadin said the partnership addresses a gap in applied learning within higher-level HR education. "They're not just learning theory, they're working with real organisational challenges, data, and commercial constraints," he said. "That kind of applied learning is exactly what's been missing in much of higher-level HR education, and we're proud to be helping close that gap."

The module combines digital learning materials with live industry engagement, enabling online learners to complete consultancy-style work within a structured academic framework.

The initiative forms part of King's Business School's broader commitment to practice-based learning across its online programme portfolio.
