Google has announced a large-scale partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) and Miami Dade College (MDC) to integrate artificial intelligence into classrooms, strengthen workforce skills, and advance digital learning at scale.
Through the partnership, M-DCPS — the third-largest school district in the United States — will deploy Gemini for Education to 100,000 high school students and deliver Google’s Generative AI for Educators course to 18,000 teachers. Additional Gemini Academy certifications will support educators in applying AI tools to teaching and administration.
AI pilot projects are underway to personalise tutoring through digital “knowledge wallets” and streamline school management using data-driven decision-making. The collaboration also introduces new music education courses developed with TED-Ed, Education Through Music, and YouTube creators, giving students nationwide access to curriculum-aligned creative learning resources.
Meanwhile, MDC is expanding its role as a leader in AI workforce development. As part of the Google AI for Education Accelerator and the National Applied AI Consortium (NAAIC), the college will receive a $2 million (€1.85 million) grant to extend mentorship and AI education programmes to 30 community colleges across 20 US states.
Complementing these efforts, Google has launched Google Skills, a unified platform featuring 3,000 AI-focused courses and credentials, completed by over 26 million learners in the past year. The company’s skills-based hiring initiative now links certified learners directly with employment opportunities at participating organisations, including M-DCPS.
Google’s Miami partnerships demonstrate how education and industry collaboration can accelerate AI readiness in both classrooms and the workforce.
