Over 2,200 people and 630 businesses in Mayo committed to workforce development last year through Skillnet Ireland, with over 14,800 training days delivered. The services sector led uptake, but engagement spanned pharma, agriculture, retail, and more—nearly all driven by SMEs.

With growing pressure from digital and green transitions, Irish enterprises are prioritising talent investment as a strategic differentiator. The demand for sector-aligned training and regional collaboration reflects a wider shift towards agile, skills-first business models.
