Matt's research interests concern manufacturing process modelling, automation and workforce development. He is a recipient of the American Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) International Honour Award for Education. In MTU, he has contributed to the development of a unique innovation ecosystem that encourages students to conceive and evaluate ideas into prototype products/systems and to evaluate them in terms of performance, commercial potential and sustainability. Matt was the founding manager of the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing & Management Systems (CAMMS) in MTU which offers a comprehensive range of training and CPD programmes to industry covering automation, lean-sigma, project management and manufacturing systems development.
