Declan Allen
Head of Logistics, Supply Chain and Project Management, Technological University Dublin

Declan has over 30 years’ experience in teaching and providing management and academic leadership across a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. He has forged deep links with key industry stakeholders and spearheaded the development of a broad range of strategic initiatives. He is the former Head of Department of Transport Engineering, Dublin Institute of Technology. He is currently Head of Logistics, Supply Chain and Project Management in the School of Business Technology, Retail, and Supply Chain in the Faculty of Business, Technological University Dublin. He is currently WorldSkills Ireland’s Chief Examiner for the Logistics National Skills Competition and was Ireland’s Expert at the WorldSkills Kazan Competition in 2019. He was WorldSkills Chief Expert for the Freight Forwarding Competition at WorldSkills Salzburg in 2022 and has been appointed as the Skills Competition Manager for the Logistics and Freight Forwarding Competition at WorldSkills Lyon in 2024. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK). He served as Chair of the CILT Ireland’s Education Committee and as Council Member from 2004-2006. Declan has published numerous papers in journals and international conferences on automotive industry, logistics, and supply chain management. He is currently a registered DBA candidate with Grenoble Ecole de Management, France.
